The position provides case management/service coordination to families who have a child with physical, development, or mental health disability.  Considerable independent judgment, discretion, and professionalism are required in working with families, providers, and community agencies.  The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or closely related field. VAN DRIVER FOR VETERANS SERVICE COMMISSION

Washburn County is currently accepting applications for a part-time van driver with the Veterans Service Commission of Washburn County. The driver will provide reliable and courteous transportation service of Veterans for medical appointment in WI & MN, and provide communication between the Veteran clients, and Washburn County Veterans Service Office staff. SEASONAL HIGHWAY WORKERS

Washburn County is seeking applicants in the Highway Department for Highway Seasonal workers. The purpose of this position is to provide additional assistance for summer operations of highway maintenance. The primary functions of this position include but are not limited to shoveling gravel and rock picking, cleaning and maintaining equipment, traffic flagging, mowing with light-duty tractors, and pothole patching.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to effectively use hand tools. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to work independently. Good physical condition necessary to perform job duties; including ability to lift heavy loads, ability to work in extreme heat/adverse weather conditions, and ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be punctual, possess a strong work ethic, and be able to work effectively with a wide variety of people.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have graduated from high school or passed a high school equivalency-based test (GED). Must have a valid WI driver’s license, and possess a good driving record. The starting wage is $17.03/hr. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 600 hours. This position is for the 2025 construction season, and will begin after the snow & frost are gone. SUPPORT STAFF AT THE OAK YOUTH CENTER

Washburn County is seeking applicants for Support Staff at The Oak Youth Center within the Department of Health and Human Services. Oak Support staff will assist with programming and general activity oversight of youth utilizing The Oak Youth Center, located in Spooner, WI. The Oak Youth Center services all students ages 11- 17 in Washburn County. This position will comprise of a pool of staff available to work causal hours as requested throughout the year. Ability to work late afternoons/evenings and weekends is necessary.
Required: A high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience with working with youth preferred as well as the ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of youth management and current issues facing youth in the community. LTE Jailer/Dispatcher

Washburn County is accepting applications for a LTE (casual status) Jailer/Dispatcher. The Dispatcher will relay messages and dispatch personnel and equipment by radio communication in response to crimes, accidents, fires, medical emergencies, etc. The employee is responsible for the receipt and accurate transcription of messages by radio and telephone and for various clerical functions in the Sheriff’s Department. As a Jailer, the employee performs a variety of duties involving the operation of the jail and the safety and security of inmates. The work is performed within the established guidelines and under the general supervision of the Jail Administrator and Sheriff. Candidates must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more and occasionally deal with and or subdue unruly inmates. Must possess a valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one. Starting pay is $22.12 during training and increases to $24.11 upon successful completion of training. PART-TIME PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE

Washburn County is seeking applicants for a Part-time Public Health Nurse position within the Health and Human Services Department. This position will also work with foster care homes, including eligibility, licensing, and coordination. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field. The starting salary range is $28.63-$31.79/hr for a Social Worker and $27.40-$30.43/hr for a Child Welfare Case Manager, DOQ plus excellent benefits.
