Public Health Nurses provide programming to assure quality health services are delivered to mothers, children, and families in Washburn County.
Maternal Child Health Priorities:
- Increasing healthy birth outcomes
- Promoting and assuring comprehensive primary care for children ages birth to 21, including children with special health care needs.
- Promoting healthy lifestyles among school-age youth, ages 6-21, including children with special health care needs.
- Pre-conception counseling, pregnancy-testing, and reproductive health services.
Safe Sleep Education – Back to sleep program. Presentations to the community.
Newborn Mailing Program – Education packets containing materials on immunization, infant safety, birth spacing and other public health programs are sent to every home of a newborn.
