WI election officials are launching Elections 101, a video series to help you do just that.

Wisconsin requires voter registration prior to a person being allowed to vote. All voters must submit proof of residence with their voter registration.

There are several different ways to register to vote:

1. By Mail – Up to 20 days before the election. You can request a voter registration form from your municipal clerk or print one from the MyVote Wisconsin website at http://myvote.wi.gov and mail it to your municipal clerk.
2. Online – Up to 20 days before the election. If you have a valid Wisconsin State ID or driver license that matches the information within the Wisconsin DMV database, you can complete your voter registration entirely online and do not need to mail the form or proof of residency to your municipal clerk. To do this, visit the MyVote Wisconsin website at http://myvote.wi.gov.
3. In Person – At the municipal clerk’s office up until the Friday before the election at 5:00 p.m. (please check with your clerk for office hours) or at the polling place on Election Day.

Registered Write-In Candidates

To register as a write-in candidate, a Campaign Registration Statement (CF-1) must be filed with the filing officer prior to collecting or spending any money on the campaign. The deadline to register as a write-in candidate is 12:00 p.m. (noon) the Friday before the election.
