Snowmobile Trail Update
22 Jan 2026
**Attention**
1/22/2026: All trails remain in good condition. With the last couple of flurries received and cold temperatures, trails have firmed up nicely with this week’s grooming. All trails have been groomed at least once this week and are in good condition.
1/8/2026: With some of the neighboring southern counties closing their snowmobile trails, we will remain open for time being.
1/2/2026: Please be advised that on 1/1/2026 there was an incident on Long Lake. Off of the boat landing on Blackhawk Road the ice conditions at this time are very poor and a snowmobile broke through the ice at this location while out riding. At this time no trail route is marked out on Long Lake. The county does not have jurisdiction on Long Lake and is not responsible for marking a trail across the lake, even though certain sections of Washburn County snowmobile trails lead to accessing Long Lake, we do not maintain anything past the high ground point. Please use caution if you are out on any lake as they are not yet 100% safe!
At this time ALL Trails in Washburn County are now officially open. With the recent snow accumulations trails are now packed and groomed and now have a sustainable trail base. Additional snow accumulations have helped the trails out tremendously and grooming reports have been coming in with positive feedback. We have lost some snow with the recent rain and abnormally warm weather, but trails are still in decent shape. All trails across the County are Fair in condition. Please note, clubs continue to maintain trails throughout the snow season, so please use caution while riding.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
