Birch Lake Winter Drawdown Notification CHANGE/UPDATE

WINTER DRAWDOWN CHANGED.  The annual winter drawdown for Birch Lake is still scheduled October 1st, 2025 through October 15^th, 2025.  The Town of Birchwood, Town of Edgewater, and Village of Birchwood all voted to change the drawdown to a 6-inch drawdown instead of the historical 12-inch drawdown. Pending submittal of approved minutes from all municipalities, the change will go in effect starting 2025/2026 until all 3 municipalities vote to change again.  Water levels will be dropped 6-inches from the normal summer target elevation of 1131.0 to the winter target elevation of 1130.5.  Water levels will be kept at the winter target elevation until all of the ice melts in the spring.
